New England SCBWI Critique Groups

NESCBWI Critique Groups are held, usually on a monthly basis, in communities throughout all the New England states. Each group is unique, shaped by the talents of the Critique Group Leader and the participants.


On this site you will see a list of the currently open critique groups in each state. If you do not see a group open in your area, contact Stacy Mozer at necritiquegroups@gmail.com. ME - Portland
Picture Books
Celeste Henriquez, a published illustrator from Portland, Maine is starting a new critique group for picture book authors and author/illustrators. Fiction and Nonfiction writers are welcomed. She's hoping to get 4-6 experienced writers/illustrators who have been published and or have critique group exerience. The group will meet once a month on Mondays at 5 or 5:30 at Portland or Windham libraries. Middle Grade/YA

ME - Winslow
We are The Revisionists - a group of Illustrator/Authors in Central Maine in Winslow. We meet every 2 months or so. If you are serious about your work and interested in being considered as a member please contact Hazel Mitchell at hazel-mitchell@hotmail.com

NESCBWI is looking to start a new group in York. Email Stacy Mozer at necritiquegroups@gmail.com if interested. Please put York Group in the subject and let her know if you are willing to be the critique group leader.
